Ngema, Mroza’s names flushed down the toilet

Sarafina creator Mbongeni Ngema's fiancée Nonhlanhla Buthelezi, aka radio DJ Mroza, is the latest victim of the social network chatroom known as "Toilet".

The chatroom has turned into a war zone on which celebs, journalists and radio and television personalities are rubbished.

Site-users have created accounts using fake names – often the names of celebs – which gives them licence to insult people at will and creates the impression that the insults originate from well-known people.

They use vulgar language and have even gone as far as revealing people's HIV-Aids status and accusing a number of DJs of sleeping their way to the top.

Mroza, the vibrant Ukhozi FM midday show DJ has learnt that her name is being falsely used and that she is being insulted on the site.

Users are also attacking her fiancé Ngema.

The respected musical creator, writer, composer and artist and wife No3-to-be, DJ Mroza, say they are not going to let the site users get away with this.

A furious Ngema tells Sunday World he is preparing to take legal action.

"People forget there are devices that can be used to track them down," he says.

"I will be seeking legal advice and will take action against those who have written about me and my fiancée," he says.

Mroza says she prefers to stay away from the site.

"The person who has created an account using my name and is writing nasty things about me will eventually get tired," she says.

The lovebirds are not the only victims. Lucky Sefatsa, Ukhozi FM DJ and husband of SABC1 news reader Philisiwe Sefatsa, have also been insulted. And Metro FM's DJ Sbu, Sbu Buthelezi, Linda Sibiya and Tshatha, SABC1's Ezodumo presenter, are victims too.

Journalists have not been let off the hook either and Sizwe Blose, a Durban-based entertainment journalist got the shock of his life after discovering that somebody was using his name to swear at well-known personalities.

Police inspector Vincent Mdunge says he knows about the website.

"I've heard about it. Those hooligans can be traced should anyone lay charges," says Mdunge.
