Comrade Sandile Phakathi once said "Leadership is not a sexual disease
- it's not transmitted through partners" Rather its (hard work),
commitment and sacrifice to the struggle and the burning desire to
serve and advance the life of students.

Student politics has shifted into a battle field where all woes,
battles, grudges are performed at the highest level. I don't mean to
be rude but I am speaking a fact when we were recruited in the
organisation it was purely to serve but now day leaders what to be
served it's either his way or the highway.

They have bruiseble egos which need to be nurtured. I think our
mistake as the DUT student leadership was taking young leaders who not
well groomed politically and putting them in prestigious position.

We have trusted these cadres without proper initiation and orientation
of the core values, vision and mission of the organisation. As result
we have accumulated comrades who are of self-gain, individualism,
popularity who bring shame, filth, and corruptness into our hard
earned work.

These kids turned our organisation to a dating site- where their chop
and changes partners according to their hierarchy of leadership. What
saddens the most is these kids are rushing to be in strategic
positions while under performing academically. I don't mean to be rude
but it touches me to be a Masters student and be leaded by a person
who has being doing second year for the past three years.

Cadres let us be led by people who will inspire and influence us for
better. I stand to be corrected.
